Looking for organizations with which to partner

December 2, 2008 | by SMC of SLC

Social Media Club of Salt Lake City founders met today. We’re actively planning the first quarter 2009 activities — more on that will be posted later.

For now, plan on every third Thursday. And we’ll add to that schedule with special workshops, seminars, mixers and perhaps ultimately an awards program.

I’m writing with a shout out to those who are following us on Facebook and have indicated they’re interested in helping launch the Social Media Club of Salt Lake City. Now’s your chance!

We’re looking for contact information for any professional organization with which you think we should partner. By ‘partner,’ we mean organizations that share a portion of our mission and values and would like to either join with us for an event (or several events) or at least make their membership aware of what SMC of SLC is up to.

We have already reached out to the local IABC and PRSA chapters. What are the other professional organizations in the Salt Lake City area that we should contact, and whom should we contact?

Alternatively, you can reach out yourself, direct them to our website, and send us a note through this site’s contact page informing us of the organization and person you contacted on our behalf.

So, SMC of SLC, unite! Help us spread the word.

We have a bit of an internal bet going about how many people will join us on Jan. 15 at our inaugural meeting. I won’t spill the beans by telling you who thinks what, but I will say that the more people we get to our meeting in January, the better. And the more likely SMC SLC will rise quickly to prominence in our little community.

Our vision includes becoming the first stop and primary voice for advocacy on all things relating to social media in our community. And together, we can do it!
